Registration for Berlitz Foreign Language instruction is now open!

French Information:

We are enrolling for both morning (grades K-2) and afternoon (grades 3-5) beginner level French classes to be held at Discovery.  All sessions include twenty one-hour classes, two classes per week. Two additional 20-class sessions will be offered throughout the school year, so that parents can enroll and pay for each 20-class period as the year progresses, for up to a total of 60 classes over the school year. Enrollment will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Each session can accommodate between eight and twelve children.  Berlitz must receive at least eight student registrations per class to offer the class. Berlitz will refund parents who register for a session that is not ultimately offered. Please register as soon as possible to enable Berlitz to hire sufficient instructors.

No prior French language experience is necessary. Grades K-2 morning session students will go directly from the French class to their Discovery homerooms. Grades 3-5 afternoon session Extended Day students may return to Extended Day after the French class. Although the K-2 program involves singing and some limited movement, all students must be able to sit in a classroom setting for an hour without being disruptive.

Please contact PTA French Language Coordinator Caroline Jouy with questions. If your student is interested and qualifies for free/reduced lunch, please reach out as scholarship opportunities may be available.
