Help us bring some holiday cheer to our beloved teachers and staff.  We will be setting up a Hot Cocoa Bar on Tuesday, December 16th. 

 

The PTA will supply the hot chocolate and we ask parents to help supply the treats. The items are to be dropped off to the front office on Monday, December 15th or on December 16th by 9 am.  All items are to be nut free. Join the Discovery Auction committee! Our biggest event of the year, it takes volunteers to pull off our annual auction! Various roles are available; reach out to Danielle at fundraising@discoverypta.org to volunteer or find additional details on the PTA website.

During the school year, Discovery students donate over 2,800 pounds of food to AFAC (Arlington Food Assistance Program) through the Discovery Food Bus Program.

 

Volunteers (parents and kids!) are needed to take the donations to AFAC at the end of the week. You may pick up donations anytime between 2-4 PM.

Love capturing memories? Join the Yearbook Committee! We’re looking for volunteers to help design pages, take photos at school events, and bring our yearbook to life. There are opportunities for every time commitment level—whether you’re creative, organized, or simply enjoy snapping photos.

Discovery Volunteer Requirements

 

In order to volunteer in the school building, or be a chaperone on a field trip, parents or guardians must fill out a volunteer application every two years, and the required training is valid for 3 years. Please contact Alicia Zekan (Alicia.Zekan@apsva.us) if you have questions about volunteering. Keep in mind your application will take a few days to process, so it recommended you do this well ahead of your scheduled volunteer slot!
