PTA Meeting: Tuesday, April 21 at 7pm
We will be holding our first virtual PTA meeting for the Discovery community this week: Tuesday, April 21 at 7pm. We will host the meeting using Zoom. We will be sharing some PTA updates, discuss the budget for this year and next and give everyone an overview of the nominating and voting process for the Discovery PTA Board for 2020-21. Please tune in and participate!
We are asking everyone to register for the meeting (as an extra safety precaution since there have been some issues with Zoom). After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

It's Spirit Week!
Discovery’s Encore teachers put together a fun Spirit Week (April 20-24). They miss our kids as much as the kids miss them!
Here are the guidelines to participate:
1) Take a picture each day participating in the day’s theme.
2) Tweet @DiscoveryAPS using #DiscoveryHomeSpirit and tag an Encore teacher that day. (Here's where to find some of them: @JohnDuffyPE @MsWilliamsArt @MissKrupaDES @MsHarrisDES @DiscoveryLibr
3) Be sure to maintain social distancing throughout!
Discovery Town Halls
Dr. Russo and Dr. Seeber have been hosting weekly Virtual Town hall meetings. Recordings for each are on the website. The next one will be on Tuesday, April 21st at 11:30AM. They plan to devote this time to sharing instructional resources, as well demonstrating how to access them. They send an email with a link to participate just before the Town Hall begins, so check your email.

Virtual Field Day: May 8th, 2020
The Discovery PE team is planning to join “National Field Day†coordinated by OPEN Phys Ed., Friday, May 8th. This is a “virtual†Field Day with activities students complete at home. More details to come!

Create an account on the PTA's website (it's free!). Discovery’s PTA is allowing ALL parents to access the online family directory (no PTA membership required). Once you've created your account, you can access the family directory. You can likely find their information in the directory. Start here: https://discoverypta.membershiptoolkit.com/home
Please note: You MUST create/update your account via the PTA website on a computer browser. It can not be done on your phone browser or in the app. Once you have updated your account via a computer, you should have access to everything else via the app (called Membership Toolkit).
