Join or renew your PTA membership for the 2025-2026 school year. After school starts, only current PTA members will receive this weekly newsletter.

Enrollment for Baroody's After School Enrichment Programs begins TODAY, Thursday, August 28th at 7pm!

The enrollment window opens Thursday, August 28 at 7pm and closes Sunday, September 14 at 11:59pm. Sign up early - some classes will fill up quickly!

There is one remaining Kindergarten playdate! Join us on the Discovery Kindergarten playground (facing 36th St. N) at 10 am on Saturday, August 30th.

Meet fellow Kindergarten families and enjoy connecting with new friends. Siblings welcome!

Come join us for the first PTA meeting of the school year on Thursday, September 11th. You'll learn all about the Discovery PTA, who we are, what we do, and why we need YOU to help us make this school year a success.

Our PTA Meeting will take place from 5:30 to 6:15 pm in the Dining Commons. Everyone will then transition straight into Back to School Night, starting at 6:20 pm.

Both the PTA meeting and Back to School Night are child-free events. Thank you!

Our first restaurant fundraiser of the year is at pie-tanza on Wednesday, September 24th, 11:30am-9pm. 

Tell your server or cashier that you're with the Discovery Elementary PTA fundraiser!

Save the date for our annual ice cream social! Join us Friday, September 12, 5-6:30pm for an ice cream social as a sweet way to celebrate the beginning of the school year. Meet up with old friends and connect with new ones!

Order your grade level t-shirts now! We have a limited number/sizes of grade level shirts in-stock and for sale on the PTA website. Shirts are $10 each and will be delivered to your child’s classroom within 2 weeks of purchase. 

Label your items and support Discovery! Order labels through Mabel’s Labels to ensure you’re never without labels for all-the-things this year and help us support the PTA. Visit the Mabel's Labels fundraising site, search for Discovery Elementary School PTA (Arlington), and start shopping! If you lose something this year, we’ll return it to your child’s classroom if it’s labeled. 

If your family is interested in foreign language instruction this coming school year, registration has opened up. We are enrolling for both morning and afternoon classes. Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis and is for the entire school year— September to May for more than 50 bi-weekly sessions. More info and the registration link can be found on the Baroody website.

Girls on the Run is back this year! Girls in grades 3rd through 5th are invited to join the Discovery GOTR group.
