First log in to your account and renew your PTA membership for the 2024/2025 school year. After school starts, only current PTA members will recieve the newsletter. 

Then, come join us for the first PTA meeting of the school year on Thursday, September 12th (leading into Back To School Night). You'll learn all about the Discovery PTA, who we are, what we do, and why we need YOU to help us make this school year a success.

The PTA Meeting will take place from 5:30 to 6:15 pm in the Dining Commons. Everyone will then transition straight into Back to School Night, starting at 6:30 pm. 

Finally, make sure you stay on top of all Discovery news and updates as they happen by following the PTA accounts on Facebook and/or Instagram.

Our fall NO FRILLS FUNDRAISER is underway! Rather than selling items, soliciting support from neighbors, or buying things you don’t need, No Frills offers a way to donate to support Discovery PTA directly. 

Funds raised will go towards a family STEM Night in the spring and to support other STEM activities throughout the school year.

The PTA partners with Baroody Camps to offer fun enrichment opportunities throughout the school year! Registration for the Fall 2024 session is currently underway. 

Check out the current classes and sign your explorers up before registration ends on Sunday, September 15th. 

Join us for our Back to School Ice Cream Social from 6-7:30 pm on the Veranda (N. Harrison St). 

We will be using a ticket-based system for ice cream. Adults can obtain tickets from volunteers at the event. We look forward to seeing you at the event!

The theme of the 2024-2025 National PTA Reflections program is Accepting Imperfection. Explorers can submit work in the following categories: Film Production, Dance Choreography, Music Composition, Literature, Visual Arts, Photography. Submissions will be due in Oct (exact date TBA).

Registration for Girls on the Run is now open! 

Participants from grade 3 and up will have fun, make friends, increase their physical activity, and learn important lessons to last a lifetime! Get all the details!

New this year: Discovery will have one Girls on the Run team that meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:45-8:45 am. 

During the school year, Discovery students donate over 2,800 pounds of food to AFAC (Arlington Food Assistance Program) through the Discovery Food Bus Program. 

Volunteers (parents and kids!) are needed to take the donations to AFAC at the end of the week. You may pick up donations anytime between 2-4 PM.
