The PTA's No Frills Campaign runs September – October only! This year, donations will go toward enhanced STEM resources for our teachers as well as school-wide activities, such as STEM nights and/or a Science Fair.

The Discovery PTA invites all of our Military Families to a Coffee Social on Friday, September 15th, after drop-off (9am). The event will be held in the Blue Sky Studio, located on the 2nd floor of Discovery. This is a great opportunity to network with other military families who might be new to the area. Coffee will be served. 

Show your Discovery Spirit by purchasing a grade-level shirt! 

Shirts are $10 and are available for Pre-K through 5th grade. Purchase your shirt  on the PTA website.

Pick-up instructions will be emailed to you when your order is ready. Orders for grade-level shirts must be placed by Friday, 9/15 if you want them in time for Spirit Day on 10/6. (We will accept orders after 9/15 but we cannot guarantee sizes or arrival by Spirit Day).

The Discovery Elementary School PTA partners with Baroody Camps to offer fun enrichment opportunities throughout the school year!

The Fall 2023 Program Schedule has now been released, and registration is OPEN until Sunday, September 24th @ 11:59PM. Classes START on Monday, October 2nd and run through Friday, December 8th.

Ready for a mouthwatering meal that supports a great cause? Join us at Cowboy Cafe (4792 Lee Highway) on Wednesday, September 20th between 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM and make a difference!

Do you like to think creatively? Develop out of the box solutions? Odyssey of the Mind is an international creative problem-solving program for students in Kindergarten to college. Spend the fall and winter with a team of 5-7 peers creating solutions to problems using building, painting, storytelling, and other skills that your team presents at friendly regional, state, and world level competitions. Parent involvement is key, as we only have teams if parents volunteer to coach, judge, etc

The PTA needs a variety of volunteers in both leadership and support roles. Please take a look at our volunteer page to see a full list of available jobs and choose a task that fits your skills. Help us pull off the many amazing events and programs we have planned for this school year! 

Just a reminder, in order to volunteer in the school building, parents or guardians must fill out a volunteer application every two years, and the required training is valid for three years.
