Teacher Appreciation is THIS Week! We are so fortunate to have amazing teachers at Discovery! If you haven’t already done so, be sure to reach out and thank your teachers for all they’ve done during this challenging year!
Our Next PTA Meeting is Tuesday, May 11 @ 7 pm
Along with our regularly scheduled board and teacher updates, we will be voting on the reallocation of several line items in the budget to purchase 6 outdoor picnic tables, for lunches and outdoor learning opportunities. To close out the evening, we will announce candidate names for next year’s executive board, to be voted on at the June meeting. The link to join us on Zoom will be posted on the PTA website Tuesday morning.

Congratulations to all the incredible Nominees for Arlington SEPTA’s annual Awards for Excellence in Special Education! Winners will be announced at the 2021 Excellence Award Virtual Ceremony on Wednesday, May 12 at 7:00 pm live on Zoom. RSVP.

PTA Seeking Volunteers for Next Year's Board
The Discovery PTA is currently seeking volunteers for next year's slate of PTA board members. The nominating committee is currently seeking candidates for the following position:
1st Vice President: VP of Fundraising - Oversees and assists volunteers leading PTA fundraisers (Parent Auction, Restaurant Nights, Spirit Wear, Box Tops, Grocery Cards, School Supplies, Website/Shopping, etc).
Summer Garden Volunteers
Discovery needs your help taking care of our school gardens this summer! Please sign up to tend to both the Pollinator and Veggie Garden plants for an entire week. This involves regularly picking up trash, watering the plants, pruning plants and pulling weeds, picking the ripe food to take home or donate to AFAC, and returning used supplies. Weekend Bags Program
Please consider donating to the Weekend Bag program for Barcroft ES families. Every week, Discovery families have provided at least 60 families with a bag of essential pantry staples. Let’s keep it up! There is also an online shopping option. Sign up here!
