World Heritage Night is TONIGHT! There are two ways to access our celebration starting at 6pm: - View this PDF with direct links to live events as well as the link to our Discovery Virtual Museum, which will officially 'open' to students Thursday afternoon and will remain open beyond our celebration.
- You can also access our celebration by locating the World Heritage Night 'class' on your explorer's Teams app. This 'class' will appear on Thursday and is solely intended for use of World Heritage Night.
Be sure to start off the evening by dropping by the 'General' channel meeting, moderated by Ms. Upshur, to be entered into our diverse book giveaway! Earth Day Celebration on Saturday
We’d like to invite you to attend our Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 24th, from 1-3pm on the Discovery school grounds. We will use this time to pick up trash, tend to the gardens, and organize the outdoor classroom space. Sign up if you are able! Every attendee must be accompanied by an adult, while masked. Not an Eco Action Member? Celebrate Earth Day anyway! Check out our Eco Action Choice Board for activities you can do from home and share your “sustainable work†on our Padlet and/or social media using #APSGreen or @DsicoveryAPS.
Our next Bingo Night is Thursday, April 29 at 5:15 pm! Sign up here.We are prioritizing Explorers who have not yet had a chance to participate, so please refrain from signing up if your Explorer has already participated this year.
Recognizing Our Discovery Military Families April is the Month of the Military Child. As part of this, next week, Discovery will be honoring our children of servicemembers. Active military families, be on the lookout for an email from the PTA about this!
Teacher Appreciation Week is Coming Up!
We look forward to celebrating Discovery’s amazing teachers the week of May 3. We have some fun surprises planned but we need your help! If you’re interested in volunteering to help, please email volunteer@discoverypta.org
Weekend Bags Program
Please consider donating to the Weekend Bag program for Barcroft ES families. Every week, Discovery families have provided at least 60 families with a bag of essential pantry staples. Let’s keep it up! There is also an online shopping option. Sign up here!
Yearbook Update - Don't Forget to Submit your Explorer's Signature! This year's yearbook is going to be AMAZING. We need just one more thing...your Explorer's signature! For the past few years, we have included the signatures of our yearbook team on the last page(see photo). This year, the yearbook team includes ALL of our fabulous Explorers! - Simply use the Notes app on the iPad
- Select the pencil/marker tool on the keyboard (top right).
- Choose the marker; select the thicker point and stay with BLACK (any other color will NOT show up in the yearbook).
- Take a screenshot, save to photos and drop in the google form here or email to yearbookphotos@discoverypta.org. Submission deadline: Monday, April 26th
