Diversity and Inclusion Movie Night
Explorers are invited to enjoy a movie night hosted by the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and funded by the PTA. A ‘movie night kit’ will be available for pick up on Wednesday (2/24), from 2:30-4:00PM, on the dinning commons veranda. The kit includes popcorn and key discussions questions to engage with your Explorer(s).
Students will watch the film Ruby Bridges on February 24th, 2021, (on their own devices, in their own homes). Stay tuned for details on how to access the film. We will document our experiences with #DESmovienight. Sign up HERE to ensure movie kit availability for your family.

NEWPHOTO TOPIC…COOKING & GARDENING! Do you remember the hydroponics that were in the dining commons and 4th grade hallway? Remember our hydroponics yearbook pages?
Well...this year we need your help to fill those pages and we would LOVE to have photos of your Explorer cooking/baking and/or gardening!! You are welcome to include what they created or planted, with your photo. Send your photos to this link or send it to yearbookphotos@discoverypta.org.

Steps for ordering your yearbook:
- Use the link provided above to access the Online Pay Website. Click on the Register button.
- Fill in the required information and click Submit. **This step is ONLY registering your info...NOT ordering**
- You will be taken to your Account Page. To view the product, click on the Memory Book by Jostens logo at the top of the screen.
- Choose the Standard Yearbook. Once you have selected the yearbook, you will need to enter your student’s name and choose the class they are in. You will need to enter this information for each student you are ordering yearbooks for.
- Select quantity. Continue to checkout. Follow prompts to check out.
**NOTE: you will receive an email confirming your purchase from Memory Book by Jostens. This is your receipt**

Feb. 11 & 17—Virtual Community Information Sessions on the PreK-Adult IPP Process
Community members can learn more and provide their input in the PreK-Adult Instructional Programs and Pathways (IPP) instructional visioning process during two Virtual Information Sessions that will be held 7-8:30 pm on Feb 11 and Feb 17. The same presentation will be shared during the first half-hour of each session and then will be followed immediately by a virtual Staff Open Office Hour to answer questions from participants; simultaneous interpretation available.
Recordings of these sessions will be posted online. Also, an IPP community questionnaire will be available the week of Feb. 15 to provide another opportunity for families to share their input. For more information and a full community engagement schedule, visit
