After-school Winter Enrichment, Registration Opens Sunday

Bakers Needed!
To show appreciation for Discovery staff during the holiday season, the PTA is providing a holiday treat station on Thursday, December 19. We need your help to supply 80 dozen (that's 960!) delicious baked goods for staff to bring home and share with family/friends! Please ensure all cookies, brownies etc are nut free, and drop them off in the front office on Wednesday, December 18. Sign up now!
Gift Card Drive for Families in Need
This holiday season, please consider purchasing a few gift cards in $20 increments for our gift card drive. Cards to local grocery stores, gas stations, etc. will help make the holidays easier for Discovery families in need. Drop off the cards in the front office anytime before December 20th.
New APS Elementary School Boundary Survey, Due December 18
APS has now posted a second questionnaire which closes December 18. We encourage you to share your feedback again as it will be a significant factor in APS’ consideration of the alternative proposals. A link to the questionnaire and information about the proposals is available on the APS website at https://www.apsva.us/engage/planning-for-2020-elementary-school-boundary-process/#ESengagement APS is also holding a webinar TODAY (12/13) on the process on from 12-1pm which you can join or view a recording of afterwards that will provide additional information on the proposals.
Since the last questionnaire closed, APS has decided to consider just two alternative proposals for the new the boundary process: (1) Proposal I involving a series of moves of existing Elementary schools; and (2) “Representative Boundary†Scenario. Both proposals may include boundary changes County-wide but the impacts under each proposal will likely differ significantly and are described on the APS webpage.
