There are three remaining rising Kindergarten play dates before school starts. Join us on the Discovery Kindergarten playground (facing 36th St. N) at 10 am on August 10th, 17th, and 24th.

Help us welcome Discovery teachers and staff back to school by providing breakfast treats on their first day back!

Items can be dropped off Friday, August 16th from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm or on Monday, August 19th 7:30 to 8 am.  Teachers and staff return on Monday, August 19th so we will prep things early in the morning.

Please bring your items to the school office and let a staff member know if it requires refigeration.  Gluten-free items should be marked.  If you've made homemade items, please try and include a list of ingredients used.  All items are to be nut-free!

We need adult volunteers to distribute Sprout school supply kits to classrooms on August 20th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

We will use carts and elevators but light lifting and walking will be required.  Unfortunately, this is adults only.  Because teachers and administrators are busy preparing the school, they have kindly asked volunteers come without children.  So enjoy some grown up conversation while you help the school!

This year, Discovery’s Open House will take place Thursday, August 22nd

• Last names M through Z, please join us between 8:30 and 9:00 am.
• Last names A through L, please join us between 9:00 and 9:30 am.

If you are unable to make it during your last name time, you may come during the other block, but we ask that everyone tries to stay with their alphabetical group to prevent overcrowding and ensure each student gets a chance to meet their teacher(s).

Join your fellow Discovery parents for a coffee or two after the first day of school drop-off, on Discovery's back veranda (N. Harrison Street side of the school) from 9:00 - 9:30 am.

Come join us for the first PTA meeting of the school year on Thursday, September 12th (leading into Back To School Night). You'll learn all about the Discovery PTA, who we are, what we do, and why we need YOU to help us make this school year a success.

Our PTA Meeting will take place from 5:30 to 6:15 pm in the Dining Commons. Everyone will then transition straight into Back to School Night, starting at 6:30 pm.

Save the Date for our annual Back to School Ice Cream Social, taking place on the Discovery veranda on Friday, September 13th. More details to come!

We will have a limited number/sizes of grade level shirts for sale at the Discovery Open House on August 22nd and Back to School Night on September 12th. Shirts are $10 each, cash preferred. 

If your family is interested in Spanish Language instruction this coming school year, registration has opened up. We are enrolling for both morning and afternoon classes and will need at least 8 students per session to proceed. Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis and is for the entire school year— September to May/June for a total of 60 bi-weekly sessions.
