Ongoing Opportunities
Order Your Discovery Yearbook!

You can already pre-order your Discovery 2023-24 yearbooks. Last year they sold out, so don’t wait!

When you visit the memory book website for the first time, you will need to register. Discovery’s School Code is 154147M. Orders must be placed by April 18th, 2024. Yearbooks will be delivered to your student’s classroom at the end of the year.

Volunteers Needed

The PTA needs a variety of volunteers in both leadership and support roles. Please take a look at our volunteer page to see a full list of available jobs and choose a task that fits your skills. Help us pull off the many amazing events and programs we have planned for this school year!

Just a reminder, in order to volunteer in the school building, parents or guardians must fill out a volunteer application every two years, and the required training is valid for three years.

Community Events
A Message About the Outdoor Lab

Thanks to everyone who has been showing their support as we work to keep the APS Outdoor Lab staffing in place for 5th grade Overnights. Fifth grade Overnights started for spring season but with proposed budget cuts, next year's Overnights seem unlikely.

Please keep sending emails to Arlington County decision-makers to demonstrate your support.

If you can, please join us at upcoming School Board budget meetings (proudly wearing your Outdoor Lab merch!) as well as visit School Board member Office Hours to make your voice heard. Dates and times here.

Check www.outdoorlab.org for ways you can help us save ODL Overnights!

Your Voice Matters Survey

The Your Voice Matters @ APS survey, which is conducted jointly by APS and the Arlington Partnership for Children, Youth and Families (APCYF), provides insights on topics that include safety (school and community climate), health and well-being, voice, and engagement.

The survey window ends March 22, 2024.
